The following email is from John Davis KB8TGK, a SOARA member. We want to thank John for providing the new Tri-State area high profile DMR repeater for amateur use. This is a major milestone for the Tri-State area in promoting the new generation of DMR radio. It has created a tremendous amount of interest among local hams. Training classes in several counties have taken place and one is scheduled here in Lawrence County, Ohio in November 5 at 6:30 at the Lawrence County 911 / EMA 515 Park Avenue Ironton, Ohio.

The new DMR Repeater will greatly increase the ability for emergency communications. Barkers Ridge is located in Cabell County, West Virginia and is the highest elevation in the Tri-State area. This is the same location where all three major television networks have their towers. Once again, a very high profile location which will serve all three states of West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio  and especially along the Ohio River.

A special thank you goes out to John Davis, KB8TGK a true Ham Radio pioneer.
