September is National Preparedness Month

September is National Preparedness Month. The Southern Ohio Amateur Radio Association, along with the Amateur Radio Emergency Service, and the Lawrence County Emergency Management Agency, will be at the Aid Volunteer Fire Department’s “Community Fun Day” at the baseball field in Aid on September 8th, 2018 9:00 to 3:00.   We will have radios set up to show the community how “Ham” radio helps out in emergencies. The public will even be able to try out the stations under the watchful eye of a licensed amateur radio operator.

We also will be providing information to the public about emergency preparedness. Information on “Shelter in Place” and necessary supplies in case you need to evacuate your home in a disaster.

Come join us for some fun and help support your local fire department!

A 2 weeks supply in now recommend. After the hurricane in Porto Rico, a 6 month supply would be best.
